DAMS International, also known as DAMS Furniture Ltd, is a family owned UK manufacturer and wholesaler of office furniture. DAMS Furniture Ltd was established in 2009, however DAMS International dates back to 1968 and has a long established history in the UK office furniture sector. Based over 2 sites in Merseyside, a 75,000sq ft manufacturing facility, and a 125,000sq ft warehouse/distribution facility, DAMS are committed to continued investment both operationally, including the latest cutting edge machinery and handling equipment plus continual personnel development of all staff. Environmental concerns are a large part of every business activity today. DAMS are fully committed to continuously reviewing procedures that impact on the environment and conduct our operations in compliance with legislation and to minimize the risk of all forms of pollution. All of the particle board used by DAMS is both FSC (Forestry Stewardship Council) & PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes) compliant. FSC & PEFC are non-profit organisations concerned with ensuring the responsible and sustainable management of forests. Both organisations have international recognition and work to ensure that the world’s forests are managed in a responsible manner.

Dams have recently invested heavily in new packaging technology and processes to reduce the dependence on cardboard packaging. The aim is to avoid the environmental expense of replacing damaged goods whilst minimising the environmental expense of waste packaging. Dams source all MFC board from an approved supplier that is one of the only UK manufacturers who utilises up to 96% recycled timber within the production process. To avoid using landfill sites and incinerators, waste products like cardboard, paper, wood and plastic are separated for recycling. Dams' factory uses waste wood to power the heating system and this reduces the need to burn polluting fossil fuels. To reduce waste even further DAMS have worked closely with suppliers to reduce the amount of component and finished product packaging arriving at the company’s factories. This reduces waste and the overall weight of the packaged product which in turn helps to reduce fuels costs and the carbon footprint of finished products, during transit. At the end of every desk’s working life, Dams can recycle the product thanks to a policy of working with ecologically sound materials and suppliers.

All products are stocked and ready for immediate delivery either on next day service, day of choice service or delivery and installation service direct to a customers' room of choice. Most products have a minimum 1-year guarantee, but some items will have a 2, 3 or 5 year guarantee and this information is confirmed on each product page.
